Georgia's Heroics Keeps Watford at Bay

Enfield Town Reserves drew 1-1 away against Watford Development on Sunday which saw one of the best goal keeping displays of the season.  Watford could have been four or five up by half time if it wasn't for Gerogia Metcalfe's outstanding performance in goal, stopping everything that was thrown at her.  Watford's goal came in the second half from the penalty spot when Metcalfe was judged to have been second best to a one-on-one challenge.  Enfield soon equalized when defender Hayley Day Calder found herself in an unlikely position where she controlled the ball before scooping it over the on coming keeper, to score her first goal for the club.  Enfield failed to take advantage after having a penalty saved after Bilge Taspinar was tripped inside the box.  The E's then lost Michelle Brien to injury and had to see the last 15 minutes out with 10 players who battled continuously despite the heavy legs.  Metcalfe continued to shine in goal pulling off some very impressive saves to earn the Reserves a very well deserved point.

It was a day of draws on Sunday with both the 1st Team and Thirds earning a point each.  The 1st team drew 2-2 away against Ebbsfleet with goals from Sara Sinclair and Emma Thomas and the Thirds drew 0-0 at home against Hackney.
